Torres, Dembele give Ballon d’Or shouts to Barcelona midfielder after El Clasico performance

Barcelona’s win over Real Madrid last night was one of the ages. As the Blaugranes smacked Madrid 0-4 at the Santiago Bernabeu, there was not a single poor performer among those in yellow.

As usual, Pedri’s heroics stood out to fans and his teammates alike from the game. The midfielder was unplayable on the ball, taking silky smooth first touches, and dancing around the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

After the game, Ferran Torres and Ousmane Dembele did not hold back their praise for the youngster on Instagram, commenting ‘Balon de oro’ on his post.

Pedri has been in impeccable form under Xavi, putting up brilliant performances game after game. While he has just the three goals and one assist this season, the Spaniard looks even better compared to last season, and if he can continue on this trajectory, it’s difficult to fathom what his peak might look like.

Xavi himself has not stopped praising the Pedri, speaking highly about him game after game.

He’s just 19! I’m honoured to coach Pedri! He can do all that and more. I cannot praise him enough. Pedri has been very important, he is a sublime player of spectacular beauty, capable of making a difference, of generating plays. The pause in the goal, in the opposite field…He is different,” Xavi said after the Galatasaray game.
