Report: Two Liverpool players couldn’t stop laughing after what Luis Diaz did in the changing room on Tuesday

James Milner and Curtis Jones couldn’t stop laughing at Luis Diaz’s video to the Liverpool fans after Tuesday’s game with Villarreal.

According to The Athletic, the Liverpool pair were amused by Diaz’s short and sweet message from the changing room.

It was all good natured though, of course. Having ‘fallen about laughing,’ whilst watching him record the message, Jones and Milner then ‘patted Diaz on the back.’

Diaz’s ability to communicate in English reportedly remains ‘a work in progress.’

The man of the moment

Diaz is apparently still struggling to communicate verbally with his teammates. But he certainly doesn’t have the same issues with the ball.

The 25-year-old’s display against Villarreal was mesmeric. His entrance at half-time was the shot in the arm Liverpool needed to turn the tie back in their favour.

Diaz was direct and positive whenever he had the ball at his feet. This seemed to have a knock-on effect on his colleagues in red who found the poise they had been lacking up until that point.

The Colombian’s energy also seemed to suck the life out of Villarreal. Before the break they looked galvanised, but chasing Diaz around the pitch appeared to heavy their legs dramatically.

All of the plaudits that have come Diaz’s way since are fully deserved. As long as he manages to stay fit, his place in the starting line-up against Real Madrid in Paris now looks assured.

It’s still early days for Liverpool’s number 23 in England. As he settles in further and gets to grips with the language, he’s surely going to take his performances up to an even higher level.
