Report: Liverpool have now made their first move to sign the ‘strongest defender in Europe’, he’s ‘incredible’

Liverpool are among the clubs chasing Torino defender, Gleison Bremer, ahead of making a potential move for the Brazilian this summer.

Bremer is expected to leave Torino after another impressive season in Italy and Goal claims that Liverpool are among the clubs interested in him. However, while the Reds are said to hold an interest, the current favourites to do a deal for Bremer are Inter Milan, while Juventus are also lurking in the background.

Bremer, 25, is thought to be valued at around the £25m mark by the Italian side. He has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham, who are still monitoring his situation.

The impressive defender was branded ‘incredible’ by Fabrizio Romano previously and Italian media have even branded Bremer the ‘strongest defender in Europe’.

Any move Liverpool make for Bremer will depend on outgoings, though. The Reds already have the likes of Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez, and Konate in the ranks. And that’s before getting to back ups like Phillips and Williams. A move for Bremer would depend if any of those were moved on.

TBR’s View: Bremer A Brilliant Defender But Could Be Wasted In Liverpool

The issue for Bremer in going to Liverpool is that he surely wants to go somewhere and play regular football. With the Reds, there is no way he’s currently getting in ahead of Van Dijk, Matip and Konate.

Of course, he could force his way into the team and if he is only going to cost £25m or less, then in today’s market it will be a snip. Bremer has a bit of everything, and has been one of the best defenders in Italy for some time now.

Liverpool have got their transfer business spot on recently. So if they do go for Bremer, you can’t really turn around and say it’s a bad move.
