REPORT: £75,000-A-WEEK ARSENAL PLAYER MAKES U-TURN OVER HIS FUTURE

Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares is very happy at the Emirates Stadium, according to Goal journalist Charles Watts on his YouTube channel.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that people close to Cedric have told him that he loves it at Arsenal and is very happy at the Gunners.

Watts said, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “It kind of depends on him. He has a nice contract. Will he decide he wants to go and play more regularly? I mean, people I know who are close to Cedric say he loves it at Arsenal and he’s very very happy,

“There’s been chances for him to go before now and he’s chosen to stay. He’s behind Tomiyasu at the moment and playing well. And it’s really a case of if he wants to go or not.”

This appears to be a U-turn from Cedric in the space of a few weeks.

Football London reported on February 7 that the £75,000-a-week defender (Spotrac) is open to leaving Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old Portugal international right-back is behind Japan international right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu in the pecking order.

However, it seems from Watts’s report that Cedric is happy in his role at Arsenal.

CEDRIC SOARES SHOULD STAY AT ARSENAL

In our opinion, Cedric should stay at Arsenal if he is happy.

If the former Southampton right-back does not mind playing second fiddle to Tomiyasu, then, in our view, there is no point in him moving anywhere else.

Arsenal are a big club and a global brand who could end up in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

The Gunners will need Cedric next season if they play in the Champions League.
