Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Victor Chust from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Victor Chust is the subject of interest from Manchester City over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old remains in Real Madrid’s plans and could replace Jesus Vallejo in the summer transfer window.
Victor Chust spent the early portion of his youth career with Valencia before joining Real Madrid in July 2012. But since finishing his footballing education at Real Madrid, the 22-year-old has struggled to establish a foothold in the first-team, making just three appearances for the senior side.
The Spaniard joined Cadiz on a season-long loan deal last summer and has gradually become a mainstay at the back for the Andalusian club, making 23 appearances across all competitions. Chust’s performances have impressed Real Madrid enough to convince them to integrate him into the first-team squad. But the Merengues could have a battle on their hands to retain Chust, with Manchester City setting sights on him.
The interest from Manchester City is surprising, considering Pep Guardiola has four top-notch centre-backs at his disposal. But recent reports have linked John Stones with Newcastle United. And the English international’s potential departure could prompt Manchester City to bring in a replacement in the summer transfer window.
