Barcelona legend, Dani Alves, has labelled Newcastle United’s new boy, Bruno Guimaraes, as a ‘phenomenon’ on Instagram.
The Brazil midfielder was thanking the Newcastle supporters, with a post on Instagram, for how they have welcomed him to the club.
Guimaraes added that he has ‘always has been sure of my choice in coming to Newcastle’, as he added his message with a video of his short time on Tyneside.
Barcelona right-back Alves then added in the comments section of Guimaraes’ post ‘Phenomenon. I told uuuuuu!!!’.
Nonetheless, this was the message in full from Guimaraes to Newcastle fans after the 2021/22 Premier League campaign came to a close:
‘Always has been sure of my choice in coming to Newcastle. Thanks to the fans, management, coaching staff and players for the reception I had. I always felt like I was part of the group. We have come to the end of this season with the assurance of great things to come. Thank you and see you in 2022/23’.
Even before a ball was kicked from Guimaraes, something felt right about him and Newcastle United.
For far too long, the Toony Army faithful had to watch the club accept mediocrity under the Mike Ashley era.
Now they are heading down a new road, they are looking for that hero once more, that Alan Shearer, David Ginola or Peter Beardsley.
Whilst Guimaraes has a long way to go to match their legacies, he sure is the St James’ Park fan favourite right now – words that have been echoed by Shearer himself.
