‘His ability is incredible’: Dirk Kuyt says Liverpool have a player in the ranks he is actually jealous of

Liverpool take on Manchester City today and former forward, Dirk Kuyt, has been singing the praises of new signing Luis Diaz in the build-up.

Diaz arrived in January from Porto and has made a sensational impact at Anfield. His goals, assists, and general play have looked more like that of someone who’s been at the club for years. In terms of impact signings, he’s one of the best the Premier League has seen in recent times.

And speaking for the official Liverpool website ahead of the clash with City, former Anfield cult hero Kuyt admitted he is jealous of how Diaz can get about the pitch.

“I could run a fair bit when I was a player, but I must admit I’m jealous of Luis Diaz’s lungs. His stamina is amazing. It looks like it’s in his veins to press, so it’s no surprise to see why he’s adapted to Jürgen Klopp’s system so quickly,” Kuyt wrote on LFC.com.

“In addition to his fitness levels, his ability is incredible. He’s now scoring important goals, giving great assists. When you see him dribbling with the ball, it seems he still has the whole view of the pitch – to see other players and give easy passes. The exciting thing: I think he can get better and better.”

Diaz is pushing to start for the Red against City today after impressing in Europe. However, one big name is likely to be dropped, with Salah, Mane, Jota, and Diaz all vying for three places.

TBR’s View: Diaz One Of The Best Signings In Recent History

How Liverpool pulled this one off so quickly remains a mystery but Tottenham must be gutted they missed out.

Diaz has been simply brilliant since he made the move and there is no doubt he is one of the best signings in the last four or five seasons.

He is probably going to play against City today. And nobody will be surprised if he makes the difference at the end of 90 minutes.
