He definitely doesn’t want to leave’: 23-year-old is desperate to stay at Chelsea, journalist claims

Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic is reportedly desperate to stay at Stamford Bridge.

According to well-respected journalist Dean Jones, the 23-year-old “definitely” has no plans to leave the Blues anytime soon.

He’s still under contract with the London club until 2024, so his immediate future is as part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

“He definitely doesn’t want to leave Chelsea. Whenever you write him off he usually proves you wrong and shows he’s one of the best players you’ve got,” Jones said.

“I’m not convinced that Pulisic will leave Chelsea but someone might make a cheeky offer to try and get him.

Pulisic, who cost Chelsea a sizeable £58million back in 2019, has blown hot and cold during his time in England.

There’s been spells where the American winger has been a talisman in the starting line-up, including at the back end of the 2019/20 season when he hit a purple patch of form.

However, the speedster’s struggled with injuries and consistency in his game.

For instance, Jamie Carragher previously claimed Pulisic really frustrates him because he never reaches his full potential.

Up and down 21/22 season

It’s been a similar tale this campaign for Pulisic, who is still trying to find a consistent platform over an extended period of time.

The US international missed a couple of months at the start of the season with an ankle problem.

He’s shown glimpses at the start of 2022 of him regaining his very best form, something which can be a nightmare for defences when he’s in full flow with his pace and dribbling.

The attacker has found himself out of favour in recent weeks, though.

The Chelsea Chronicle is predicting Pulisic will earn a recall to the starting line-up for tomorrow’s Premier League match against Manchester United, which will be his reward for a winning goal off the bench at the weekend against West Ham.

History does suggest Pulisic will have a few good games in the side before falling out of favour again.

Let’s hope he can end that trend by showing how much talent he really has, though.
