GABRIEL MARTINELLI SNAPS AT £50M ARSENAL TEAMMATE FOR INTERRUPTING INTERVIEW

Gabriel Martinelli has been speaking to the Premier League about his development at Arsenal, where he jokingly had a pop at Ben White.

WHAT’S THE STORY?

Well, the Brazilian was taking part in the latest instalment of the Premier League’s Uncut feature.

Just before discussing his former teammate David Luiz, Martinelli was interrupted by White smashing a ball into a nearby goal.

After the £50m man distracted the interviewer, the South American forward quipped: “Ben, I’m working!”

White fails to respond, as he swiftly disappears from the shot and allows the Premier League to continue interviewing the Arsenal wonderkid.

Of course, the 20-year-old was just messing around, and it’s good to see him and White feel comfortable enough with each other to the point where they can be juvenile.

So far this season, Martinelli has scored five goals in 33 appearances, while also providing six assists.

In our view, next season will be the campaign in which Martinelli explodes.

The Guarulhos-born attacker has already shown glimpses of his unbelievable talent, specifically back in December.

Martinelli scored three of his five Premier League goals this season in December, which earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award.

In terms of goal involvements, the Arsenal No.35 has since gone a bit quiet, although his directness still causes the opposition problems even when he doesn’t register a goal or assist.

However, we strongly believe that Martinelli will shine on a regular basis next season, with a full pre-season under his belt.

In our view, it will be a joy to watch him develop alongside the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.

With those three in attack, White at the back and Mikel Arteta holding the reins, the future is very, very bright for Arsenal.
