Journalist Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Liverpool could make a move for West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen in the near future.
Romano stated that the Reds have been keeping an eye on the 25-year-old for quite some time.
However, the reporter further added that Liverpool have not made a proposal to West Ham United or Bowen’s agent.
The Englishman’s contract expires in the summer of 2025. Bowen possesses a current market value of £31.50 million.
“Jarrod Bowen continues to impress, and has been a name under consideration on the Liverpool board for a long time now,” Romano told Caught Offside.
“The club have been monitoring him for years, but for the time being there has not been a proposal to West Ham or the player’s agent.
“It’s also clear that Bowen himself is not currently thinking about a move because his focus is to the Europa League and the final part of the season.
“As I said, Liverpool like him a lot. Don’t rule out other clubs getting involved, but for now my understanding is that Man United are not in the race, despite some speculation elsewhere.
“The Red Devils are not in the final player selection process until Erik ten Hag makes final decisions.”
Bowen has been terrific for West Ham United this season. The winger has scored 16 goals and registered 11 assists in 47 appearances.
Bowen has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.09 across the 2021-22 campaign.
Therefore, we can see why Liverpool are interested in the 25-year-old. However, as things stand, we would be surprised if the Reds were to make a move for Bowen in the near future.
The reality is, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp already possesses a number of attacking options (Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz).
