La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are reportedly set to table a four-year contract to Robert Lewandowski, who has emerged as an alternative for Erling Haaland.
According to a report by Spanish publication SPORT, Robert Lewandowski has become Barcelona’s preferred alternative to Erling Haaland. The Catalan giants are ready to offer the Bayern Munich striker a four-year contract and hope to secure his services in the summer transfer window.
Robert Lewandowski has established himself as one of the best strikers to have ever graced the game. The Pole has been in a league of his own since joining Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund in July 2014, scoring goals and breaking records for fun.
The 33-year-old has enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 campaign, amassing 45 goals and four assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. But Lewandowski could be playing his final season with Bayern Munich as he is at odds with the Bavarian club over the terms of a new contract. Such a situation has captured the attention of Barcelona.
The interest from Barcelona comes in the wake of the rampant uncertainties surrounding the future of Martin Braithwaite. In the summer transfer window, the Dane will likely depart Camp Nou to seek regular game-time elsewhere. In addition, Luuk de Jong is expected to return to Sevilla for good after his loan stint ends.
