The new-look Barcelona side under the management of Xavi Hernandez is well and truly starting to take shape. The new coach has done remarkably well to build an organised unit, with a mixture of youth and experience.
To top it off, Barcelona could be headed for an exciting summer ahead, with multiple reports confirming the club’s likely capture of several star players on a free transfer.
Andreas Christensen is among the players reportedly prepared to sign for Barca, joining a long list of players that includes Franck Kessie, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Noussair Mazraoui.
According to Fichajes, Barcelona want one more top player on a free transfer next summer, in the form of Paulo Dybala.
The Argentine is facing an uncertain future at Juventus, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season. The Bianconeri are desperate to tie him down to a new contract, but the two parties are yet to reach an agreement.
Dybala’s situation has put Barcelona on red alert. The Catalans rate the attacker highly due to his versatility in the final third, coupled with his vast experience at the highest level of football. His technical prowess should also make him an ideal fit for Xavi’s philosophy.
However, Barcelona are facing one major roadblock in the pursuit of Dybala. The 28-year-old is demanding hefty wages, which could be problematic for the Blaugrana, whose spending limit was reduced to a negative figure by La Liga, earlier in the month.
Barca are not the only club interested in Dybala either. The Argentine is courted by Inter Milan, as a potential replacement for Lautaro Martinez, who reportedly wants to play for the Catalans next season.
Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on the situation as well, although they are only expected to make a move if Harry Kane Leaves leaves the club in the summer.
