Tim Sherwood has called for Daniel Levy to sack Antonio Conte as Tottenham Hotspur manager even though he ‘loved’ his outburst.
The 54-year-old was asked if he would return to the Tottenham dugout to help Ryan Mason, and Tim Sherwood simply responded by stating ‘absolutely’.
There is a strong feeling that Antonio Conte’s days at Spurs are numbered and it’s only a matter of time before Levy hands the outspoken coach his P45.
If that happens, then there is talk that it’s going to be Ryan Mason heading to the Spurs dugout for round 2.
The 31-year-old replaced Jose Mourinho two seasons ago and now he could be drafted in again, as Levy proves to the world that he has learnt his lesson!
Nonetheless, this is what Sherwood had to say about sacking Conte, as he told talkSPORT.
“When you criticise the club as he has done,” said Sherwood. “You can’t let the tail wag the dog, for that length of time and say that many things about the ownership of the football club.
“I think they have to (sack Conte) and I believe they will get rid of him. But, Daniel Levy will only do what’s right for the football club.”
On being 100-1 to be Tottenham’s next manager: “Sounds like I have a chance then, don’t I?!” joked Sherwood.
On if he would help Ryan Mason out until the end of the season: “Absolutely.”
ARE TOTTENHAM BETTER OFF WITHOUT CONTE?
It’s obvious that Conte won’t be in charge of Spurs next season, but the question, for now, is whether or not he’s the man to get them fourth spot.
It’s all about securing Champions League football for the next campaign, with the likes of Newcastle United, Liverpool and Brighton all gunning them down.
If Conte has rocked the boat so much that he has lost the dressing room, then Ryan Mason will come in.
But even if the former Inter boss stays, as soon as that first defeat hits after the international break, the obvious is going to be talked about.
